Safety Planning

If you have a Protective Order (PO) you should keep your PO with you at all times. Inform your friends, family, neighbors, daycare, school, employer, etc. of this order. If your protective order is violated, call law enforcement and keep a log of each incident. You should also inform the school and child care providers who has permission to pick up the children, and what actions they should take if the abuser or an unapproved person arrives.

Whether you have a PO or not, you should change your work hours and route to work if possible. You should take photos to document the abuse for your records, and also to be used in court if necessary. Save any threatening emails, texts, voicemails, etc. to use as evidence in court.
